Sass Brown shares her vast knowledge of ethical fashion, with a focus on craftsmanship and artisanship. She challenges the current system and shares new business and design approaches.

Sass Brown is a writer, journalist, researcher, educator and activist in ethical fashion.  She was the former acting dean of the School of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, and the Founding Dean at Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI), a collaboration between Parsons and MIT.

Sass has authored two books, "Eco Fashion" and "ReFashioned," both published by Laurence King in multiple languages. Her now archived website, EcoFashionTalk, was one of the original forums for the fashion industry to share information and feature designers whose focus was different than the traditional fashion system. This led to her participation as a guest expert and speaker at venues worldwide.

Sass received her bachelor's degree in fashion design from Ravensbourne University and her master's degree in Global Fashion Management from FIT. Recently, she completed her PhD thesis entitled, "Global Artisanship Models for the Craft Sector" at Manchester Metropolitan University.
