Conversation with Massimo Volpe, CEO, Global Retail Alliance

Massimo Volpe discusses the need for a more interconnected conversation between global retailers. He shares insight on omni-channel retailing, from a generational perspective, and discusses new technologies such as voice commerce.

Massimo has more than a decade of experience in international retail organizations, learning and innovation. As a citizen of the world, for work and passion, Massimo worked with major clients and agencies in Asia, Middle East, Europe and North America. Prior to holding a leadership role in retail education and trends, Massimo served in various management positions in marketing, supporting leadinginternational brands such as Nike. He assumed the role of POPAI Italy General Manager in 2007, and became Director for Europe in 2012, responsible for 12 different country operations.

In 2014, Massimo relocated to Chicago to become VP of Global POPAI, responsible for 16 existing global chapters, and developed new international offices, such as POPAI China. In 2015, he took the role of Chairman of F.I.R.A.(Federation of Retail Associations), a network that brings together 45 retailer associations from 40 different countries.

He carried on his global approach to education and betterment in the international retail industry by serving on different Boards of organizations and international companies. He is often requested as speaker at several international events such as NRF Big Show, World Retail Congress, APAS Brazil and China International Retail Innovation Summit.  

He is currently CEO of Global Retail Alliance, an international association serving the retail community around the Globe.  In addition, he is a member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Open Voice Commerce Commission and lecturer at Mimec Bocconi University.

He is currently based between New York and London but you can easily meet him in airports, on his way to studying and testing the latest Retail technology or trend somewhere around the world.
